The research activity of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) has been recognized and strengthened by the recent granting of grants for University Teacher Training (FPU) to six of its doctoral students.
The selection of six researchers from the UPCT, among the ten who requested it, is a success rate that is five times the state average, since the call for 850 FPU grants have been presented this year more than 6,500 candidates.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport will finance the predoctoral contracts of UPCT researchers Sebastián Cánovas, Noelia Castillejo, Ana Fernández, Francisca Marco, Clara Máximo and José Ángel Zabala, whose thesis will be directed respectively by Joan García, Francisco Artés , Ángel Molina, Luis Castillo, Alejandro Álvarez Melcón and Francisco José Alcón.
PhD students, most of whom are women, selected by the Ministry for their academic record, the curriculum of their directors and the recent scientific history of their research groups develop their thesis on Information and Communication Technologies, Advanced Techniques in Research And Agricultural and Food Development, Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, Technology and Modeling in Civil Engineering, Mining and Environmental and Economic Sciences, representing practically all the doctoral programs offered by the UPCT.
