Just a few days ago, the municipal group MC, within the scope of its powers, determined a change in its portavocía, a position held by the councilor of the area of ​​Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón and that, from now until the end of the legislature, Will play the edil of Finance, Contracting and Patrimony, Isabel García.
This is a planned decision from the beginning of the legislature and also responds to an internal reorganization of the tasks assigned to the components of the municipal group.
The fact that García serves as a delegated councilor has repercussions on the fact that this increase in his area of ​​responsibility is translated into a salary increase, something that will not finally occur.
And is that the mayor of MC, as he has been doing this political training since assuming functions of government in the City of Cartagena, continues with his exemplary attitude by giving up a remuneration that belongs to him by right and enjoyed by the rest Of Consistory Political Groups, up to four.
Garcia would correspond to perceive his assignment as spokesman, since it is an amount recorded in the general budget of the City.
Or what is the same, if the mayor had not voluntarily resigned, would receive this amount from next month.
But he will not.
The mayor, aware of the budgetary constraints that are imposed by the state regulations regarding the increase of expenditure refers, in a decision marked by consistency and political responsibility, has decided not to receive such allocation.

Thus, while Isabel García, as mayor and spokesman of MC will receive 47,000 gross euros per year, the other spokesmen of the municipal groups with representation in the Consistory will receive 58,000 euros gross.

Despite this, the Popular Municipal Group yesterday openly criticized the decision of Garcia, even knowing that the mayor would renounce the gratification that corresponds to him.
The unjustified criticism came from a political formation, the PP, which receives more than 200,000 euros each year from the municipal budget, only to pay the salaries of Francisco Espejo, Carolina Palazón, Esperanza Nieto and Diego Ortega, their four councilors released.
Great cost and scarce baggage for four public representatives who, in more than two years of the legislature, continue without contributing a single responsible initiative, concentrating its work in the constant criticism to the work of the Government and in avoiding any hint of responsibility.
