The traditional fishing district of Santa Lucía hosted on Tuesday the first day of La Mar de Barrios, an initiative that is part of the festival La Mar de Noches 2017 that seeks to connect the event itself with the cultural diversity of the municipality and energize other areas of the City to bring it closer to them.
Santa Lucía has been, along with Mar de Cristal, one of the two districts and councils that have been chosen this year to implement this initiative in its second year of application in order that the festival is not reduced to the historic center.
With the collaboration of the Councils of Culture, Equality and Social Services of the City of Cartagena as well as of different associations, groups and coordinators, an extensive program of activities was elaborated, all of them gratuitous, that took La Mar de Músicas to this neighborhood and completed a Full day of leisure.
Thus, the neighbors and visitors could enjoy a parade with a group of batukada, a wide range of neighborhood activities and the concert of the Colombian group El Caribefunk.
The Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, the delegate councilor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, and the delegate councilor for Culture and Equality, David Martínez, as well as other members of the Corporation such as Pilar Marcos joined This festive day of the festival La Mar de Músicas in the neighborhood of Santa Lucía.
This Thursday, July 20, La Mar de Barrios moves to Mar de Cristal, where it will lead leisure with numerous activities and the performance of The Ben Gunn Mento Band.
