The Cartagena beaches of Los Nietos and Isla Plana join this summer to the second edition of the initiative 'A heritage of cinema', organized by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, which seeks to give greater promotion of historical, cultural and natural heritage Of the entire Region between visitors and local citizens through the screening of documentaries and also activities with virtual reality games.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, participated Tuesday in the presentation of the project, which took place on the beach of Lo Pagan (San Pedro del Pinatar), together with the Minister of Finance and Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of Region of Murcia, Andrés Carrillo, and mayors and mayors of the rest of the municipalities that are part of the route of the same as the first councilors of Eagles, Mari Carmen Moreno;
Of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez;
Of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez;
And those of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo;

'A movie heritage' will land on Los Nietos beach next week, specifically on 27 and 28 July, Thursday and Friday, and will do the same on Isla Plana on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 August.
This is an activity for the whole family that incorporates a traveling tent of 24 square meters that houses games with virtual reality glasses on the heritage of the Region, and a summer cinema area where they will be projected in an uninterrupted documentary on the heritage regional.
Both virtual games and documentaries have been produced by the Integra Foundation, an agency under the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration.
In the film space, 19 documentaries on the natural and cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia will be seen, such as posidonia, the railway system, windmills, the Naval defensive system of the Austrias, the monastery of Santa Ana in Yecla , The tower houses in the Region, the river Segura and the diversity of the coast.
You will also be able to see specific documentaries of municipalities of the Region such as 'Carthago Nova' and 'Old Cathedral', Cartagena, 'La Unión, Mine Heart' and 'Archeology of Mazarron' and 'Mazarrón, Traces of History'.
On the other hand, in the area of ​​virtual reality, visitors will have four spectacle stands equipped with this system and will have two game options: 'The Mystery of the Ricote Encomienda', which through tests reveals the architecture of the Building of the Encomienda and its function as headquarters of the Order of Santiago, since its construction in the XV century, and 'The old cathedral of Cartagena', which opens this year and shows how this emblematic building was before being destroyed after the civil War.
The activities will be performed from 20:00 to 24:00 hours and will be distributed among the attendees a total of 1,600 DVD of the documentaries that will be projected during the summer in each of the stops.
It should be noted that the first edition of this initiative, last summer, was a resounding success that resulted in the participation of over 5,000 people.
AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CARTAGENA AND THE MAR MENOR
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, said that the port city "had to be in this type of activities" and described the initiative as "very new, in a very attractive format", which she understands will serve to "work in Two slopes "in terms of tourism for the municipality as it would be that visitors" can visualize how well the Mar Menor is "and that this could be" an excuse to come and see it "and, on the other hand, offer the offer Tourism and cultural heritage of the municipality thanks to the "fun" format and the high quality of the material.
For his part, the minister stressed that this "different, new activity" allows "to value the cultural, historical and natural heritage" of the Region and is "a good opportunity" to make it known among people who are from The Region and those coming from outside.
Likewise, he believes that virtual reality helps the children and young people to get to know and penetrate the history and heritage of the territory through play.
For Carrillo it is a question of more people knowing him taking advantage of the beach moments.
"What is also intended is to expand the possibilities of leisure in our region, that is, people not only come to the beach to bathe but also to know other things," he added.
PROMOTION OF HERITAGE THROUGHOUT THE COAST OF THE REGION
The visitors and local public of the seven beaches - belonging to six municipalities - that make up the tour of 'A patrimony of cinema' will be able to know better the jewels of the Region through this initiative that intends to divulge and to promote the treasures of the territory with this one Activity that opens this same Tuesday in Lo Pagan (San Pedro del Pinatar) and can be visited in the esplanade of La Mota until Wednesday.
He will then continue his route and, on July 20 and 21, will be in Puerto de Mazarrón, on July 25 and 26 in Santiago de la Ribera (San Javier), on July 27 and 28 will visit Los Nietos (Cartagena ), August 1 and 2 will be on the Paseo de la Concha in Los Alcázares, on August 8 and 9 will be in Aguilas and on August 10 and 11 in Isla Plana (Cartagena).
This initiative is funded by European funds Feder (80%) and by the Autonomous Community (20%), and involves an investment of about 32,000 euros.
The activity is part of the thematic objective to improve the use and quality of information and communication technologies and access to them, and the reinforcement of inclusion and electronic culture.
