The center attached to the University of Murcia ISEN will host next week the first edition of Wonder Brass Festival, summer festival that will include individual and collective classes, exhibitions of musical material, a master class of jazz and free concerts, all focused on the Metal wind instruments.
This has been presented by the Councilor for Culture and Education of Cartagena, David Martinez, who has shown his pride for the great musicians with which the municipality has.
These musicians, he stressed, continue to form during the summer, which is why the initiative has started to launch the Wonder Brass Festival, which will be held from 24 to 27 July.
In the presentation was accompanied by members of the organization, including the representative of the same, the musician Pedro Pablo de Jódar.
Thus, the program of activities will start on Monday 24 with an opening concert in which "will show the most characteristic repertoire for the family of wind instruments metal.
Thus, in the first part, the group will organize the festival, Wonder Brass Quintet, a classical formation of wind metal composed by two tromptas, horn, trombone and tuba.
Already in the second will be an ensemble of metals composed of students from the Region of Cartagena led by the also Cartagena Alvaro Pintado.
On Wednesday 26 there will be a concert by the invited teachers of bombardino and trombone, David Abellán and Víctor Belmonte, who are members of the Bilbao Municipal Band and the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, respectively, in addition to the performance of the Flamenco dancer Cristina Jiménez.
On Thursday, July 27, the closing concert will be held, which will be borne by the students enrolled in the course.
Groups of students from the five families of wind instruments will be participating in the concert, which will be taught in this first edition of Wonder Brass Festival: trumpet, to be given by Saúl Rubio;
Horn, by Serezade Borja;
Víctor Belmonte, who will offer trombone sessions;
Bombardino, by David Abellán;
And Tuba that will teach Bartolomé Acosta.
In addition, Pedro Pablo de Jodar, who has highly valued the acceptance of the festival, which already has subscribers from different parts of the Region and even neighboring provinces, has announced that a Master Class Jazz program has been scheduled, Of Pablo Martínez, as well as an exhibition of instruments and material and a talk by the Valencian firm Stomvi.
The mayor of Culture has encouraged the interested musicians to participate in the course, whose registration period is still open, and to all Cartagena and visitors of the city on the days of the festival to enjoy the concerts, which will be free and open air .
In addition, he has emphasized the importance of enjoying the music and musicians of Cartagena "who then go away and continue to form, but which we can enjoy during the summer."
Finally, Jódar has wanted the festival "to consolidate as another event of the summer in our city", and stressed that "throughout the Region there has never been such an event despite the number of wind metal players That have left our area. "
The festival seeks, in the words of the young musician, "to disseminate written music for our instruments".
