La Mar de Barrios starts this Tuesday, July 18, with a program that aims to connect the La Mar de Músicas festival with the cultural diversity of the city.

The fishing district of Santa Lucía and the coastal town of Mar de Cristal will host workshops, games, dance and musical performances on Tuesday and Thursday, with this initiative launched in 2016.

In this way, La Mar de Músicas does not only remain in the center, but also involves neighborhoods and councils, for which a wide program of parallel activities has been developed.

With the collaboration of the Councils of Culture, Equality and Social Services of the City of Cartagena as well as different associations, groups and coordinators, on Tuesday, July 18 in Santa Lucia and Thursday 20 in Mar de Cristal will host the festival.

Various free activities have been programmed, including bands with batukada group, neighborhood activities and concerts of the groups Caribefunk (Colombia) in Santa Lucia and The Ben Gunn Mento Band (Spain) in Mar de Cristal, with which The neighbors and visitors of these areas can enjoy in order that this edition of The Sea of ​​Music reaches all corners of Cartagena.

In these activities the Department of Social Care and a wide group of associations and social groups have collaborated, among them are Association Columbares, Rascasa, Accem, Foundation Cepaim, Association Holy Virgin Chilla, Alraso, Murcia Acoge, Caritas La Palma, Cruz Roja, La Huertecica, Sierra Minera Foundation, Sodicar, Friends of the Camino de Santiago Association, Santiago Apóstol Cultural Association, Saint Lucia Neighborhood Association, Lo Campano Women's Association, Neighborhood Association.

The Department of Culture thanked this extensive collaboration and expressed this thanks with the delivery of invitations to attend some of the concerts of the program of the festival of the Sea of ​​Music.
