The Spanish Navy commemorated this Sunday the feast of its patron, the Virgin of the Carmen, with various acts in the Arsenal of Cartagena as well as in all Spain and in the ships and units deployed abroad.
The activities, which took place in the Arsenal of Cartagena, began with the celebration of a mass in honor of the Virgin of the Carmen.
Then, the homage was paid to those who gave their lives for Spain and those who died at sea, merchant marine, fishing, scientific and recreation.
And then there was a ceremony of imposition of decorations and homage to the Navy personnel who has recently been in the reserve situation.
The parade of the Force ended this commemorative event, presided by the Admiral of the Arsenal Military of Cartagena, Aniceto Rosique, and attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor of Interior and Public Safety, Francisco Aznar, As well as the main civil and military authorities of the city and representatives of the fishing, merchant and sports marinas, with which the Navy shares the Virgin of Carmen as patroness.
