The Association of Neighbors of Galifa has celebrated more than two weeks of festivities with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, to celebrate the day of the patron saint of the town, the Virgen del Carmen.
The program began on Saturday, July 1, with the traditional opening ceremony of the festivities, which was attended by the Councilor for Celebrations and Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba;
The mayor of Hacienda and Interior, Francisco Aznar;
The Councilor for Tourism, Obdulia Gómez, and the mayor of Social Services, Carmen Martín.
The celebrations extended until the big day, Sunday 16, and in the same one took special importance the sport with diverse activities and championships.
Cartagena bowling, indoor soccer, zumba and initiation to skating, as well as the domino and auctioneering championships were the strengths of this festive program.
But there was also time for another kind of recreation with dances, cultural talks, concentration of bolilleras, cinema forum, a representation of musical theater or an evening trovera, for example.
Also, on July 7 was the Night of Coexistence, with dinner of migas for those who brought the arrangement, and on Sunday 9 there was a concentration of classic and old motorcycles and at night the Great Charity Gala 'Rocío Salas'.
Also the smaller ones had their space, with several activities scheduled for them and, especially, Friday the 14 in the afternoon with the Great Children's Party.
On Saturday 15 a popular dinner was celebrated with dance and soon the hermitage was opened to sing the salve to the Virgin of the Carmen and to make a floral offering, an act that was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and The delegated councilor of Equality, David Martinez.
The celebrations will culminate Sunday 16 of July with the celebration of the great day in honor to the Virgin of the Carmen.
At midnight the hermitage for the cante de la salve will open;
At 7:00 a.m. will be the touch of diana flowered, enlivened by the band of the town;
Will follow the events at 2:30 pm in the Casino with the brotherhood meal and in the afternoon, at 7:00 pm, will be the procession, which will give way to mass.
After this there will be a raffle of gifts and there will be a dance.
Finally the trophies of the different championships will be delivered.
