The Local Police of Cartagena will carry out in collaboration with the General Direction of Traffic a campaign of monitoring and control of the technical conditions of the vehicles that will be carried out from the day 17 to the 23 July in all the municipal term of Cartagena.
Through this campaign, the Local Police of Cartagena will review and control technical aspects of the vehicle such as tire depth, lighting, signage, license plates and documentation.
The average length of the mobile car park has increased by 3,7 years during the period between 2007 and 2014.
The risk of dying or being seriously injured is multiplied by two when comparing accidents occurring with vehicles 10 to 15 years old in relation to vehicles of less than five years.
Proper maintenance and tuning of the main safety features of the vehicle, ie tires, brakes, shock absorbers, lights and signaling is essential to combat accidents.
The controls will be carried out in different parts of the city, preferably in neighborhoods and councils, although special attention will be given to the coastal zones and beaches of the Cartagena coast.
