Cartagena 1873-1874 ', which was in charge of the official chronicler of the city, Luis Miguel Perez Adán.
The events began at dawn, with the raising of the red flag of the Cantonal Uprising to the Castle of the Watchtower in homage to the victims.
Among the attendees were the first deputy mayor of Cartagena and Councilor for Sustainable Development, José López;
The councilman of Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado;
And the Councilor for Transparency, María José Soler.
Already in the afternoon, the conference offered by the chronicler of Cartagena in the Palace Hall, which was attended by Jose López and Ricardo Segado, in addition to the mayor of Hacienda, Isabel García;

After that, the cantonal flag was raised and the first manifesto of the Revolutionary Board of Public Salvation was announced, announcing the triumph of the Cantonal Uprising in Cartagena, emulating the events that occurred during July 12, 1973, With the participation of the director general of Historical Heritage and Archeology of the City of Cartagena, Mª Carmen Berrocal.

THE CANTON OF CARTAGENA
On July 12, the political uprising of the Cantonal Uprising in Cartagena and the proclamation of the Revolutionary Board of Public Salvation in the framework of the federalist insurrection during the First Republic (1873-1874) was recalled.
The cantonal uprising triumphed in Cartagena, which turned it into a stronghold and base of operations of the federalist movement, establishing in the port city the first provisional government of the Spanish Federation.
Thus, Cartagena resisted for six months the siege of the troops of the central Government, from July 12, 1873 to January 12, 1874, a date that represents the end of the Canton of Cartagena.
