The Port of Cartagena will host this Saturday, July 15, the Third Spanish Kayak Sea Cup, third of the four events of the national league of this modality, which will bring to the city more than 200 paddlers from 40 clubs across Spain.
The Club de Regatas, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Regional Canoe Federation, organizes this sporting event that today presented the mayor of the area, Ricardo Segado, accompanied by the vocal of Canoeing RCR, Ginés García;
The technical director of the regional federation, Sebastián Espín;
And the RCR's technical director, Eduardo Gallego.
Segado has remembered and thanked the bet of the Club de Regatas de Cartagena for promoting this sport modality that grows in number of followers and goes in the direction to activate the sports tourism, since for this Saturday is expected a concentration of more than thousand people in The port to enjoy the show and our city.
The event, in which the Port Authority, Maritime Rescue, Civil Guard and companies in the area collaborate, will consist of two routes, one of 10 kilometers and another 15 kilometers, with departure from the jetty of the cruise ship pier.
The first exit is at 9.30 am, and there will be another exit at 11.30.
There will be 18 individual categories and 7 double boats.
The technical director of the Regional Canoeing Federation highlighted the work of the Cartagena club to publicize the Kayak de Mar organizing events of great relevance at the national level, which has made the city a reference, three years ago there were barely 15 federal licenses And this year there are more than 70, with the goal of reaching 100.
