Many municipalities of the Region of Murcia celebrate during these days celebrations in honor to Our Lady of the Carmen.
After 82 years, Cartagena recovers the procession with the image of the patroness of Carmelo through the streets of the city center, according to the pastor of the Carmen, Juan José Castillo.
The procession will take place on Saturday, after the 19:30 mass.
In addition, on the occasion of this celebration, since last 7 July is celebrated in the parish the ninth presided every day by a priest, at 19:30 hours.
The parish priest has asked his parishioners to participate in these holidays, especially in the procession of the Sabbath so that it is "a true expression of faith and joy, that recover part of the lost splendor" in this celebration.
He has also requested volunteers to carry the throne of the Virgen del Carmen.
Those who want to collaborate as portapasos should dress that day white shirt and trousers or dark skirt, and indicate it previously in the parish.
The festivities will end on Sunday, July 16, the day of the Virgin of Carmen, with the celebration at 19:30 hours of the solemn Mass, presided over by the vicar of Cartagena, José Abellán.
At the end of the celebration, the scapular will be imposed on the faithful who wish it.
