The APC-UCAM International Corporate Social Responsibility Chair will encourage companies, clients and administrations working with the Port to develop CSR strategies in their actions.
It will also promote initiatives that benefit the sustainability and quality of life of the geographical environment, as in the neighborhood of Santa Lucía.
The president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, and the Port Authority, Antonio Sevilla, have signed this morning the protocol of action of the Chair and an agreement in the field of innovation.
The objective is to create value in the economic, social, environmental and institutional environment, integrating transparency in management and promoting these values ​​among Port collaborators.
In order to achieve this, units of applied knowledge will be created, and innovation will be transversal in all areas of action.
An important example will be the "Impulso Santa Lucía" project, a social innovation plan that will work with local residents.
Antonio Sevilla explained that "the Port of Cartagena proposes to universities to think about how the port of the future will be, so that they make proposals to us, which the Authority will later include in its line of work.
