Today Wednesday, July 12, the day that marks the 20th anniversary of the murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco, who was a councilor of the Ermua City Council, at the hands of the ETA terrorist group, the City Council of Cartagena has wanted to join the tribute organized by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
At 12 noon was kept a minute of silence at the doors of the Palace Hall in memory of Miguel Angel Blanco, act attended by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, along with a number of councilors of the municipal corporation and the president Of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, who also wanted to be a participant in this memory.
The City Council of Cartagena has wanted to be one of the many municipalities that have added to this sense tribute to Miguel Angel Blanco, when it marks the 20th anniversary of that fateful assassination of the former councilman, political representative and defender of the democratic state, regardless of Its ideology, at the hands of ETA, explained Ana Belén Castejón.
This act has served as a remembrance for Miguel Ángel, for all the victims and their families, as well as a tribute to the Spanish society that July 12 was democratically raised in defense of freedom, peace and coexistence .
