The Carthago Crowdworking Center, the result of collaboration between the Community, through the Institute of Promotion, Telefónica, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, will allow the development of eight innovative projects framed in areas such as tourism, Health and well-being, education, gastronomy or smart cities.
The space, the first of two Telefónica Open Future centers to be launched in the Region, began its activity this week with the first working session in which the nearly 20 entrepreneurs selected to develop their business initiatives in this region met. New center.
The director of the Info, Joaquin Gomez, explained that "this is an initiative that reinforces the commitment of the regional government for the creation of dynamic spaces in which to enhance the talent of entrepreneurs."
"These spaces, framed in the regional strategy of entrepreneurship and innovation, constitute a new tool to stimulate the talent of the entrepreneurs and innovators and to foment the collaborative work and the creativity, contributing so that the Region is at present one of the communities More dynamic in terms of business creation, with a growth rate of 2.1 percent in the first five months of the year, "added Joaquín Gómez.
In the case of the projects selected for this space, these are eight initiatives linked by their innovative character among which is a digital platform focused on the tourist area that aims to generate a space of contact between tourists and inhabitants of a city to contribute An added value to travel;
A company that develops educational toys with virtual or augmented reality;
Or a device and application designed to help family reconciliation.
Knowledge economy
In addition, a Marketplace will also be promoted to choose a lawyer with flexibility and security based on the client's needs;
A platform that offers travelers the possibility of getting to know local gastronomy by eating in private homes;
A project to adapt traditional walkie talkies in wristbands with other value-added services;
A smart and sustainable cities initiative or a company specializing in sending home portions of exact portions to make simple recipes.
From now on, these 20 entrepreneurs will receive training and mentoring in those aspects necessary to accelerate the maturation of these projects, such as business models, marketing, communication or financing and other specific issues that are detected throughout the training program.
In addition to this training and individualized assistance in which Telefonica Open Future experts participate, the Carthago Crowdworking Center offers entrepreneurs the possibility of accessing a wide and solid network of business, financial and research contacts.
In this sense, those startups that reach a higher degree of maturity will also have access to the network of accelerators and investment funds that participate in the Telefonica Open Future network, such as the Wayra accelerators, with physical presence in eleven academies in Europe and Latin America;
Amerigo funds, a global network of investment funds in technologically innovative companies, or the Talentum Universities program, which aims to develop university talent and promote the transfer of knowledge and digital technologies to the business world.
