The screening cycle of this first quarter of FICCMOTECA closes on Friday July 7 with "Bar Bahar", an Israeli film that tells the story of Leila, Nour and Salma, three Israeli Palestinian citizens living in Tel Aviv, where Share floor and experiences.
The film epitomizes the duality that the three young women are subjected to in their daily lives, trapped between tradition and life in the big city, as well as the price they must pay for a lifestyle that the majority considers normal: Freedom to work, to have fun and to choose.
"Bar Bahar" is a film about women and carried out by women, highlighting aspects such as homosexuality, racism, gender inequality and the situation of women in the Arab world.
This is Maysaloun Hamoud's debut film, and it was the most awarded film of the last edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, as it won the TVE "Otra Mirada" awards, the Youth Prize and the Sebastiane Prize.
It will be screened in the Hall of Events of the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy at 20:00, in the original version subtitled in Spanish.
Admission is free until capacity is completed.
The projections of FICCMOTECA will resume from October.
