The National Festival of Folklore in the Region of Cartagena, to be held between this Friday 30 June and Sunday 9 July in La Palma, as it is traditional, this year reaches its twenty-fifth edition.
That is why a luxury poster has been prepared for this occasion in which those attending the various days will be able to enjoy an extensive and varied program of events that will be developed at the Experimental Agro-Food Station of El Palmeral de las Casas Grandes, in This deputation cartagenera.
The program will begin this Friday, June 30 at 9:30 pm with the presentation and official opening of the Festival and the opening of the photographic exhibition 'Nos ven o nos miran' by Julián Contreras and Carlos José Pérez.
The event, which will take place in the House of Folklore, will attend the delegate councilor for Culture, David Martinez, and the councilor delegate Portal and Transparency Office, María José Soler.
On Monday, July 3, starting at 18:00 hours, the children's workshop 'Mural de Tradiciones', taught by Carmen María Martínez, is scheduled.
At 20:00 hours there will be a guided tour to the House of Folklore.
The next day, Tuesday, there will be a new visit at the same time and at 9:30 a round table will be held 'Perspectives of the festivals in the Region of Murcia', which will include as speakers Blas Pérez, National Festival of The Myos of Alhama de Murcia;
Pedro Antonio Gómez, of the National Folklore Festival in the Region of Cartagena;
José Carrión, of the National Festival of Folklore of Jumilla;
Juan García, of the International Week of the Orchard and the Sea of ​​Los Alcázares;
Ignacio Díaz, of the National Festival of Mula;
And María de las Huertas García, of the International Festival of the Virgin of the Gardens of Lorca.
On Wednesday 5 at 20:00 hours will open the exhibition 'Musical instruments of the medieval Spanish tradition of S. V to S. XV'.
At 21:30 hours will be the presentation of the book 'Musical instruments of the medieval Spanish tradition' by Jota Martinez, and at 22:00 will be the concert of Maria Aranda and Jota Martinez, which will attend the councilman of Celebrations and Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba.
Thursday will be held at 18:00 hours the children's workshop 'From the countryside to the city' directed to the Folklore Children's Group 'Santa Florentina' of La Palma and at 20:00 hours a new guided tour to the House of Folklore.
On the following day, July 7, at 10:30 pm, the Grand Folk Night with the performance of the groups 'Azarbe and the Ballet Matices', which will present 'Reflections of Tradition', will be held in the Patio de Las Casas Grandes, And of 'Hexacorde and Vanesa Muela', who will present 'Bisiestos'.
On July 8, Saturday, it will be the great day and also the last day.
The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a cultural visit to Cartagena of the participating groups.
At 20:30 hours will be the reception to the groups attending the House of Folklore of La Palma and at 22:00 hours will be held the evening of the Folk Festival, which will perform the Children's Folklore Group 'Santa Florentina' La Palma, the Folklore Group 'City of Cartagena' of La Palma-Cartagena, the Association of Choirs and Dances 'Juéllega Extremeña' of Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres), Choruses and Dances 'Virgen de los Peligros' de Aljucer (Murcia) Folklore Association 'Lembranzas Galegas' of Vigo.
Already at dawn on Sunday 9, from 00:30 hours will be held the closing of the XXV National Folklore Festival in the Region of Cartagena with a castle fireworks.
This festival is organized by the Folklore Group 'City of Cartagena' of La Palma and the City of Cartagena and the entrance to the different acts and activities is totally free and free until full capacity.
