This Wednesday, June 28, has been constituted the Commission for Execution of the projects of citizen participation of the budgets of 2017, within the initiative known as 'Participative Budgets'.
In the first place, the members of the Commission, composed of representatives of all municipal groups, including the mayor of the Decentralization Area, Juan Pedro Torralba, who has been appointed president of the Commission, and the Councilor for Finance , Isabel Garcia, who holds the vice presidency.
For the first time, the neighbors of the municipality have been able to choose those actions that they consider to be priorities and of greater utility and that will be developed during this 2017. This is a project that will continue in the coming years and will be enriched based on Inputs and lessons learned.
This was highlighted by Juan Pedro Torralba, during the meeting on Wednesday explained to the members of the Commission how the Participatory Budgets have been processed in order to make a valuation in order to start working on those of 2018. "We want That are different, that there is more communication and participation of social groups, "said the mayor.
In turn, it has shown its intention to be a "serious and participatory" project, and that "everything that is done in Cartagena in terms of investment and activities is what the neighbors have demanded."
In this way, a spirit of continuous self-evaluation is encouraged to "enrich the process", as has been mentioned by Isabel García.
2017 PROJECTS IN THE CONTRACTING PHASE
The lighting improvement project in La Palma, whose deadline for submission of tenders was finalized on Tuesday, June 27, began the tendering of the priorities set by the Cartagena to allocate the € 1,677,535 entered in the item for the Participative Budgets, within the framework of the General Budget of 2017. It is recalled that the definitive results were known on March 8.
On that day the opinion was issued by the 4,333 local votes, who became involved in the first edition of the initiative.
After the improvement of the lighting of La Palma, in the next dates will happen the start of the tender of other projects, whose drafting phase has already finished. Thus, the future public contracts to be tender will have as objective the construction of two football fields of (328,512.48 euros) and El Albujón (329,022.53 euros), as well as the work to be done in the Castle of La Atalaya (95,000 euros), and in Santa Ana Pueblo, with a bike lane and access Pedestrian from the Residencial Santa Ana (105,000 euros).
All amounts are based on exit bid budgets.
In parallel, progress is made in the implementation of other initiatives, such as the installation of artificial turf on the La Palma football field (250,000 euros);
The final consolidation and consolidation of the Casillas Hill of El Portús (150,000 euros);
The rearrangement of road traffic and pedestrian accesses in General Moscardó Street with Capitán Haya Street and Capitán Cortés Street in El Albujón (250,000 euros), and the construction of steel from Santa Ana with the San Cristóbal neighborhood - El Molino de Casablanca ( 30,000 euros).
