The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has expressed on behalf of the Municipal Corporation, his condolences for the death this morning of which he was councilman of the City of Cartagena in two legislatures, Juan Desmonts Gutierrez.

Desmonts, 64, was a councilor in opposition by the popular municipal group between 1991 and 1995. In this last year he acceded to the responsibilities of the city government by the hand of Mayor Pilar Barreiro, who appointed him first lieutenant Of mayor;

A position he held until he ceased to be a councilman by his own decision in November 1997.
