The Councilor for Education of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez Noguera, has denounced the intention of the Ministry of Education to delete several groups of Adult Education in the municipality of Cartagena.
Martínez Noguera has ensured that he is aware of the complaints he has received from the management and the teaching staff of the Adult Center, who have criticized the criteria followed by the regional government to eliminate several of these programs and reduce the number of teachers.
"The teachers say that the requests received on paper have not been taken into account and that the enrollment period has been unusually low, which shows that the only real criterion that counseling has had is to continue with its intention to eliminate programs of Adult Education in Cartagena ", explained Martínez Noguera.
As teachers have shown the pending groups to complete the ratio in September affect ESO tests in such important neighborhoods as Los Dolores, Cuco College of Mediterranean Urbanization and El Albujón.
It would also affect the Spanish classes for foreigners of Los Dolores and Basic Skills of El Algar.
A total of 62 hours, approximately, that would involve the displacement of two teachers of Primary Adult Education and four technical teachers.
The mayor recalled that in the municipal plenary last May all political groups unanimously approved to require the regional government to maintain all adult education programs in Cartagena.
A full agreement that is obviously breached with the suppression of these groups. "
