On June 23, the Third Open Summer School of the Historic District and Sector 'ConVive in your neighborhood: opened for vacation 2017' began in Cartagena, an initiative born of the commitment of the public administrations, social entities and citizens involved in This community process, as well as several businesses in these neighborhoods.
As every year, an 'open' Summer School has been designed for the participation of families, young people, minors and elderly people and, as it could not be otherwise, the participation of the cultural diversity of both neighborhoods.
In this edition, much of the program of activities is being developed within the framework of the public spaces of both neighborhoods, in order to enhance the role of these as spaces for intercultural coexistence.
With the programming that has been planned in this edition, it responds to the needs detected and that were collected in the Monograph and also have been reflected in the Community Programming, whose progress was presented last May at the III Community Meeting Developed in the Association of Residents of the Station Sector and where it was visualized the need to continue working on intercultural coexistence and citizen participation.
Workshops and lectures on health promotion, creative urban art workshops for young people such as graffiti and rap, guided visits to the Municipal Market, sports activities, socio-educational leisure workshops, crafts, painting, contact workshops and intergenerational exchange, workshops Promotion of healthy relationships, ... are part of the actions that are being developed until July 23.
'ConVive in your Neighborhood: Open for holidays', is one of the Summer Schools that promotes the 'la Caixa' Obra Social in 37 territories nationwide under the framework of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project that fosters intercultural relations, Social cohesion and seeks the empowerment of society for coexistence and community development.
In Cartagena, the Intercultural Community Intervention Project has been carried out since 2014 and will continue in the next two years, which will serve as an opportunity to consolidate the community process already initiated by the City Council of Cartagena and Fundación Cepaim.
WHO HAVE MADE THE III EDITION OF OPEN SUMMER SCHOOL POSSIBLE
