The Bazaar of Letters of the Popular University (UP) closed this Thursday, June 22, the edition of this year with the recital of poetry 'Verse and Fire'.
An event in which students participated in the bazaars of letters of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, the women's associations Adesma of El Albujón, Dawn of Barrio Peral, La Vaguada and the association of neighbors of La Palma.
The work of the Nobel prize Gabriel García Márquez "One hundred years of solitude" was the protagonist of this activity.
The novel, which commemorates its 50th anniversary, is one of the masterpieces of an unsurpassed master in the art of counting, and is regarded as the most perfect manifestation of "magical realism."
The act began with the reading of a poem read by the councilman of culture, David Martinez.
He then highlighted the work of promoting the literature of the Popular University, with that force that keeps alive the illusion of various groups of people, who love literature and exchange views and enriching experiences.
She thanked the students, the teacher and the teachers of the UP for the commendable work they are doing.
Then several poems were read by the students present and words of gratitude were given to Professor Isabel Hernández.
Also a significant mention took place to the Lola Fernandez, who was for many years the reference of this literary workshop.
The event was closed by José Macián, director of the UP, highlighting the illusion that is transmitted to all when the poems are interpreted and the manifest interest of those present in continuing to form each day.
The act was closed, as is tradition, with the Fire.
Burning the wishes of the participants to be fulfilled in this new future.
