The Municipal School of Theater presented this morning at the Palace Hall its functions of end of course, culminating on Friday 30 June with the Gala for the 20th Anniversary of the school, and the different schools and summer workshops for children and Adult amateur and professional.
More than 200 students will pass through the tables of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center from today until June 29.
In the press conference have appeared the councilman of Culture, David Martinez, and the director of the Municipal School of Theater, Alfredo Ávila.
Martínez wanted to emphasize in his intervention the educational importance of theater, not only for the spectators, a reality that has been illustrated with a quote by Enrique Jardiel Poncela - "Theater is a great means to educate the public;
But he who does educational theater is always without a public to educate "- but also for those who study theater and acquire a series of skills of memory, expressiveness, creativity ... so necessary for the development of any other social and professional activity .
"Since we came to the Government, we wanted to focus on the performing arts, the theater and in particular the Municipal School of Theater [...] for which so many generations have passed, great actors and actresses, and that great work deserves our respect And support, "Martinez said.
He explained that in the future it is planned to translate into a collaboration agreement between the school and the city council, which among other measures cedes the use of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center for the rehearsals and classes of the students.
FINAL COURSE PROGRAM
For its part, Avila has crumbled and explained the school's end-of-course program, which begins today, Thursday, June 22, at 6:00 p.m. with the performances of the children's and young people's groups, aged 4 to 13, who Interpret "El Escondite" "El Principito" "Other gestures" "Moliere vs. Cervantes".
On Saturday 24 at 20:00 hours will be the turn of the youth company Krea Theater, which the director has highlighted its growth in its two years of existence that has led them to participate in several regional competitions and have programmed their participation in Several national competitions.
Its members will interpret the hyperrealist work 'Refugiados Out'.
On the other hand the two youth groups of the school will interpret on Monday and Tuesday their works of end of course.
On June 26th at 7:00 p.m., the play "The extras" will be performed, while on the 27th at the same time the students will face the challenge of playing 'Blood Weddings'.
The adult group will make its appearance on the scene on Wednesday of the same week, interpreting from 19:00 hours "De comedia", a series of scenes of comic works of Jardiel Poncela, Miguel Mihura.
The group of adults is composed of 45 actors and actresses who have from 18 to 82 years.
Finally on Thursday at 19:00 hours will be projected the work done by the students of the new group Aula de Cine, which will show the fragments filmed throughout the course and the short film they have prepared for this event.
On Friday 30 June will take place the Gala end of course XX Anniversary of the School, in the New Circus Theater of Cartagena from 19:00 hours.
Tickets for the gala are by invitation, which can be ordered free of charge from the Municipal Theater School.
SUMMER SCHOOL
On the other hand Ávila has also announced the dates and activities of the Children's Summer School and the various workshops programmed by the institution.
The Children's Summer School is aimed at children from 5 to 11 years old, will take place in two fortnights between 3 and 14 July and from 17 to 28 July.
The price is 60 euros the fortnight and 100 euros the month.
Already for young people and adults, between July 18 and 21 will be held the Interpretation Course given by María Alarcón and José Bote, entitled 'The Actor-Creator', in which the objective is to learn and experiment with the tools Creative to configure the actor's personal materials.
The price of the workshop is 100 euros.
Lastly, and aimed at professionals, the actor and professor of the École Internationale de Théâtre Lassad, Norman Taylor, will give the interpreting course 'Exploring the movement' from July 24 to 28, for which there are already people enrolled in Several places in Spain.
The price of the course is 250 euros.
