The Plenary of the City Council of Cartagena has held this morning, under the chairmanship of the second lieutenant of mayor, Francisco Calderón (MC), extraordinary session in which Ana Belén Castejón (PSOE) has been invested as mayor of Cartagena.
In compliance with the government agreement reached by MC and PSOE in June 2015, with the support of CTSSP, the five councilors of the Cartagenerist formation (José López, Francisco Calderón, Isabel García, Ricardo Segado and María José Soler) have given their vote To Ana Belén Castejón as new mayor of our city.
At the end of the Plenary, José López said that MC will continue to fulfill his word "as we have done during these two years and we will continue to do", in addition to indicating that we will continue "working for Cartagena."
In this way, MC, who will continue to be part of the municipal government, welcomes the fact that it will ensure continuity until 2019 of a project that has allowed the residents to recover their City Hall, being an institution closer than ever, promoting the Participation (participatory budgets and permanent contact with individuals, groups and associations, among others);
Transparency (endorsed by the competent bodies and reflected in a special way in the area of ​​Recruitment), as well as the care of people and the concerns of their day to day, reflected in the enhancement of social policies and the reduction of taxes and fees , Among other aspects, as opposed to a purely economic past that caused tremendous damage to the public coffers.
It will be two more years to continue advancing in a friendly municipality for the citizen, more accessible, where mobility and sustainability are a fundamental axis;
To continue working on the recovery of assets;
To implement the most ambitious and participatory Investment Plan in the history of the municipality of Cartagena, quantified in fifteen million euros, more than double the budget of the previous Corporation in 2015, with the main beneficiaries being neighborhoods and councils;
To continue honoring our history;
Respect for our identity and not to stop working with our neighboring municipalities and brothers in an optimization of resources directed to the pursuit of the common good.
Also to continue growing and advancing from the hand of the houses of knowledge, the public universities of the Region, to continue in the demand of the necessary infrastructures and budgetary justice for our municipality and the Region before the centralism of CARM and two more years Also not to surrender in the irreplaceable effort of the restitution of the province of Cartagena, as a necessary measure to favor the progress of the municipality, the Region and the Region.
MC today renews its commitment to Cartagena, celebrating that the neighbors are the only leaders of the members of this Cartagena formation.
MC serves its neighbors from the happy independence that makes it easier for us not to depend on structures far from Cartagena, in terms of kilometers or affections, or the big companies that have too often put their interests before the citizens.
MC will continue to strive to improve the quality of life of our neighbors in Cartagena, to defend our dignity and identity for more than three millennia and defend the progress of our land to those who seek to stop it.
