The Department of Social Services and Social Mediation and Equality of the City Council of Cartagena, Cepaim, Accem, Columbares, Alraso, Murcia Acoge, Caritas La Palma, Rascasa and Intercultural Centers of the Immigration Unit, celebrated this month the " On Immigrant Women of Cartagena "to assess the outcome of the actions and work developed during this course.
Throughout the year a program of activities has been carried out designed for immigrant women with the purpose of generating spaces for meeting and coexistence among the various groups in the municipality;
As well as encouraging their participation in the actions of interest promoted in Cartagena: Migration Day, Commemoration of March 8, Day Against Gender Violence, Encounter of Literary Stories or Women's March.
The Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, said: "An average of 120 women from different backgrounds and nationalities participated in the various workshops and working groups, such as promotion workshops, language learning, social skills or Empowerment ".
He also pointed out that the council will resume this work the next course, since "for us immigrant women are a very important group and is very present in our agenda."
