The new edition of the English Language Linguistic Immersion Courses of the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Cartagena has begun, and will run until November 17.

In the inauguration of the same was the Councilor of Education, David Martinez.

These training activities last for one week and are made up of six groups of five students, classified according to their previous level, which means receiving 30 weekly of them.

Thus, the total number of attendees expected in this edition is 690 distributed in 23 weeks.

Students are accommodated on a full board basis at the Carlos III Hotel and together with an intense teaching activity, they carry out various complementary cultural activities in English throughout their stay, mainly visits to museums and the historical heritage of Cartagena.

During the meeting in the dining room, students will have conversational aids with those who continue to converse in English during breakfast, lunch and dinner, in order to achieve a thorough training during the period of development of the course.

The Headquarters of UIMP already has five years experience in the development of this training activity in Cartagena directed to university scholars of the Ministry of Education with residence throughout the national territory.

In this time, it has passed from the 240 students who received in the first edition to 690 currently, with the goal of reaching 1,000 participants per year, thanks to the excellent evaluation that has been received by the students, year after Year, in the anonymous survey carried out on the different aspects that make up the course (teaching, stay, meals and complementary activities, among others).

These courses have the added value of making known the city by receiving students from all over Spain and, in many cases, the effect called their families to manage their travel to or from return, or on subsequent trips to know In greater depth the port city, which entails a greater number of visitors to Cartagena and its value as a tourist destination in the national scope.
