More than 350 mathematicians from all over Spain meet at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) starting next Monday at two congresses in which they present their latest research some of the best lecturers in the world.
Issues related to the incidence of cancer, land rotation, industry or alternative methods for teaching, among others, will be discussed from 26 to 30 June at the School of Industry.
The main objective of this edition is to serve as a meeting for all those who develop their research in the different fields of differential equations, numerical analysis and applied mathematics in all areas, explains Professor of Applied Mathematics at UPCT Juan Luis García Guirao.
Among the lecturers are distinguished national and international scientists such as Tomás Alarcón, José A. Carrillo, María Jesús Esteban, Grégoire Allaire, Daniel Kressner, Jaume Llibre, Francisco Javier Sayas and Emmanuel Trélat.
This is the first time that the Region of Murcia hosts these scientific meetings, the Congress of Differential Equations and Applications (CEDYA), which celebrates its twenty-fifth edition and the XV Congress of Applied Mathematics (CMA).
CEDYA emerged on the initiative of a group of professors, mainly in the areas of Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Analysis, with the aim of promoting research in differential equations, numerical analysis, mechanics, control and optimization.
The first edition of this event was held in September 1978.
This edition of the event, promoted by the Spanish Society of Applied Mathematics, was organized by the Research Group on Dynamic Systems applied to Engineering, attached to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics of the UPCT.
