The Council for Sustainable Development, led by the mayor, José López, has carried out an urgent review of the existing ficus in various parts of the city, to predict possible branch falls due to excessive heat, as happened this noon in plaza de Vacation Specials

.

As a consequence of this revision, the ficus of San Francisco Square has been cordoned off as a precautionary measure.

Comprehensive assessment is envisaged and acting on those branches which are presumed to be dangerous.
