The Local Government Board, meeting this morning, under the presidency of the mayor, José López, has approved the revocation of the dismissal of the exemptions in the property tax of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, corresponding to the years 2012, 2013 and 2014.
As explained by the Councilor for Finance, Isabel García, the exemption affects the liquidations of 11 buildings, which the municipal government of those years had rejected.
The current Government has accepted the arguments of the university representatives who have provided rulings of similar cases of the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia in relation to buildings of the University of Murcia in application of the Organic Law of Universities.
The revocation affects only those three years, having prescribed the previous four years.
ACCESSION TO THE AGREEMENT OF THE TAX AGENCY
The Governing Board has also approved the adhesion to the agreement signed by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) with the State Agency of Tax Administration for the collection of debts in executive route.
As explained by the Councilor for Finance, Isabel Garcia, the agreement will allow the council to collect tax debts from taxpayers resident in other municipalities.
To this end, the City of Cartagena will carry out the necessary actions to adapt to the computer platforms and allow the interconnection of data.
BARTERS FOR CLEANING COASTAL POPULATIONS
The Local Government Board has also approved the proposal of assignment of use of five municipal sweepers, from the former Litoral Services Institute, to the concessionaire of the Lhicarsa cleaning service, for specific use in coastal populations and areas Of beach, as informed the Councilor of the Coast, Juan Pedro Torralba.
In this way the municipal machines will be used by the personnel of the concessionaire company, increasing the performance of the tasks of cleaning streets and sidewalks in these localities.
DINING SERVICE IN THE CHILDREN'S SCHOOLS OF POZO ESTRECHO AND LA PALMA
Another issue approved by the Local Government Board has been the extension of the kitchen and dining service to the municipal schools of La Palma and Pozo Estrecho.
The measure will be carried out through an extension of the current contract of the dining and cooking services of all schools for children that has been in force until 2021 and which imports 1.6 million euros.
SUBSIDY TO FUTSAL
Lastly and among other issues, the Local Government Board has approved a proposal of Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, a grant of 100,000 euros to Fútbol Cartagena for the season 2017-2018, in which the team will return to military in the First national division.
