This Thursday was the last talk and the closing ceremony of the course 'A walk through the history of Cartagena: its traditions and customs' is part of the Program for Activities for Older People organized by the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena .
The talk, which has taken place in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Palace and has discussed the importance of the conservation and dissemination of our cultural heritage.
The legacy of our history ', has been run by the municipal coordinator of Archaeological Heritage, María del Carmen Berrocal.
Afterwards, the event was closed with the closing of the course and was attended by the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín del Amor.
The mayor has dedicated a few words to the students of this course of 70 hours in which have participated an average of 35 people every Thursday in morning sessions of two hours.
In her speech, the Councilor highlighted the "immense historical tradition" of Cartagena and its "overlapping of cultures by its nature as strategic enclave of the Mediterranean" as well as its rich heritage.
Also, Carmen Martín thanked the speakers who participated in this course that, according to her words, "has been a success", for sharing their knowledge with older people enrolled in it.
