The new doctor's office of El Llano del Beal will begin its activity in the coming days.
This was announced this morning the mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the Health Area Manager II, José Francisco Sedes, who along with the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón and municipal and regional administration technicians visited The facilities of this new primary care center.
Infrastructures that suppose as much an extension of consultations as of space, besides, of course, the improvement of the same ones, since the old office of El Beal was one of the oldest of Area of ​​Health II.
The professionals will be the same ones who worked in the old practice, since it will attend to the same number of citizens and zones.
Prior to the inauguration, some information-level details and notification to doctors and nurses as well as to the citizens of the transfer of activity to this new center have to be completed, Sedes reported.
For his part, the mayor has indicated that it is a reason for joy to have these facilities "because they are not only two years of construction, but 20 years of struggle to have a decent office and because the two administrations, Regional and Local, Have been able to work hand in hand and help to realize this project ".
A project that "can serve as a model for other centers," López wanted to emphasize, given that it is large, bright and has a nursing office next to the medical office, something that already deserved the residents of El Llano and Of the Strait of San Ginés.
He also recalled the intention, as far as possible, of a later extension to include a meeting room "where doctors can work in a transversal way".
The mayor has indicated that once this project is completed, the priority is the construction of a new office in the town of Santa Ana and in San Antón, the latter already in the tender phase for the award of the work, and he hopes that they can be done ASAP.
He congratulated technicians of the Ministry and the City Council for the work done and from the City of Cartagena will continue to ask as much as possible to improve health services that, he recalled, always depend on budgets.
OTHER ADVANCES IN HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURES
The new clinic of El Llano del Beal is in addition to other actions already completed or under way that abound in the municipal follow-up plan that aims to check the status, operation and operation of municipal medical offices.
This way, prioritizing the lines of action, as was done last year with the preparation of the medical practice of Playa Paraíso, which pays attention to the 600 cards of this area of ​​the coast of Cartagena, encompassing towns such as Playa Paradise, Playa Honda or Caravaning Villas.
This practice came to satisfy a demand generated after the closing of the previous one, located in Playa Honda, on which an embargo for debt accumulated with six creditors, which prevented the City to make the necessary improvements works.
Thus, at the time of the dissolution of the company owner (Collaborative and conservation urban entity of Playa Honda), the previous municipal councilors should have carried out the steps to obtain municipal ownership of the premises, something that did not happen.
However, the current local government, resolved this problem assumed, acquired, on 20 February, the bass that hosted the Medical Clinic Playa Honda.
The premises were awarded to the Office for 4,000 euros, in public auction.
It is located on the ground floor of the building 'Julieta II' in Los Chaparros and has a constructed area of ​​357 square meters.
The City Council regained control over the property, with the will to enable there the old practice of Playa Honda, undertaking the necessary reforms and other complementary actions, due to the existing budgetary availability.
