August will no longer be synonymous with inactivity in Cartagena.
The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), together with the Funcarele Foundation and the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), has set out to boost the urban center during the summer with an extensive training and leisure program at an International Summer Campus. Its first edition offers some thirty courses and activities.
The core of the training offer will be the language courses, among which the most important are Spanish for foreigners, the preparation of official exams in English and Spanish, and for trainers in both languages ​​and legal English.
Regarding leisure, the sea will be the main protagonist of the activities organized by the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, although there will also be space for cultural workshops such as theater.
The UPCT rector, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, the mayor of Cartagena, José López, the director general of Universities and Research of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Juan Monzó, and the academic director of this I International Summer Campus, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Funcarele, Miguel Martinez, presented on Thursday the offer of the same in the Faculty of Sciences of the Company, in the former Barracks of Instruction of Mariners.

The summer campus in Jaca of the University of Zaragoza or the International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander are some of the models to follow for the Polytechnic of Cartagena, which will open during August its most emblematic center, the Faculty Of Science of the Company, next to the port, and its residence of the Street Caballero to also offer lodging to the attendees to the courses.
