The director of the Institute of Development inaugurates this laboratory, inspired by the philosophy of open innovation and endowed with tools of last generation as 3D printers
The Community, through the Institute of Promotion of the Region, maintains its commitment to innovative entrepreneurs with the opening of a new laboratory 'maker', located in the European Center of Business and Innovation of Cartagena (Ceeic), which joins the Which was inaugurated last January in the European Center of Companies and Innovation of Murcia (Ceeim).
The new laboratory, 'Tech Space Ceeic', has spaces dedicated to electronics and work with Arduino and tools of the latest generation as 3D printers that will be available to companies, students and groups of entrepreneurs to develop projects and technological solutions 4.0 applicable later to the business and industrial fabric.
The director of Info, Joaquín Gómez, explained today, during the inauguration of the 'Tech Space Ceeic', that these spaces are part of the bet by the regional government to promote the process of intelligent reindustrialization.
"The Community has been a pioneer in facing the leap into the fourth industrial revolution thanks to its Industry 4.0 strategy, which seeks to encourage and encourage these talented entrepreneurs, a true source of innovation in the Region, to develop technological solutions For the companies and industries immersed in this process of change, "said Joaquín Gómez.
Ceeic's 'Tech Space' is a space of 50 square meters inspired by the technology of open innovation and with the aim of providing its users with digital manufacturing tools.
Among these tools are two 3D Printers, multiple utensils and materials made available for the development of prototypes applicable to Industry 4.0, electronics, robotics or biotechnology.
In addition, it is planned to incorporate a numerical control machine (CNC) soon, which accelerate and simplify the manufacturing processes of parts and components used in the development of projects and prototypes.
During the inauguration, some of the companies housed in Ceeic and groups of 'makers' exposed some of the projects they have launched and others that are in the process of development using the tools and machinery of the 'Tech Space'.
Specifically, the company PenBeric introduced a dron nurse, as well as other innovations in which they are working within the scope of manufacturing applications, equipment and products through 3D printing.
For its part, the company Fluid 3D presented its business project also related to 3D manufacturing, where appropriate personalized utensils.
Some students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), also present at the inauguration of the space, exposed their technological developments.
Among them were the group of 'makers' of the university, who showed some of their projects and some members of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), belonging to the UPCT, who explained past and future projects, including Latest initiative, which aims to educate hospital patients in programming and robotics.
"These laboratories are spaces with state-of-the-art computer and technological equipment in the Community that will allow all those who have an innovative initiative to carry out projects that otherwise would be difficult for them to complete. The organization of courses, workshops and meetings under the format of elevator pitch in which these technological enablers show their developments to large companies, thus enhancing the transfer of knowledge and technologies and advancing in the new model of knowledge economy that we want Develop in the Region, "concluded the director of the Info.
