The City of Cartagena, through the Sustainable Development Area, works on the adaptation of the road linking the industrial estate of La Palma with access to the Vera-Almería motorway.
The mayor, José López, and the president of the Conservation Institution of La Palma, Aniceto Martínez, met Tuesday to discuss the issues related to its expansion and the connection that gives access from this road to the polygon as well as Some urgent repairs of the firm.
This is a road that at the time ceded the Community of Irrigators of La Palma to the City of Cartagena.
This route, which has a lot of traffic, needs a number of improvements, as claimed by the Conservation Authority of La Palma, which also calls for the road to be expanded to be able to connect it with the dual carriageway, given that when the motorway was built the Autonomous Community Left it without connecting, as explained the mayor, Jose Lopez, at the end of the interview.
"At this moment we still can not advance in that, but yes we are going to start to inform, to make the study of where it would have to cross the road to avoid two small hamlets", indicated the first mayor, who pointed out that in this aspect A solution would be that the layout made "a kind of zigzag very little pronounced".
Lopez's intention is to "extend the road as ordered by the norm", that is, with at least two vials of three meters per direction and a shoulder of 1.5 meters.
"Now it would be up to us to expropriate the lands adjacent to that step at the moment that the assignment by the irrigators to the City of Cartagena is concrete," said the mayor, who nevertheless pointed out that what hurries now is the Urgent arrangement of "two extremely dangerous bumps" in the current roadway.
Likewise, the first mayor has shown his willingness that the adequacy of the road is carried out in a consensual way.
"We will start talking to the neighbors," he said.
It has also progressed that the president of the Conservation Institution of La Palma, Aniceto Martínez, has committed to initiate contacts with them.
