The FICC, Cartagena International Film Festival, opens the registration deadline for short films to participate in the 46th edition of the festival.
The databases can be downloaded from the FICC website.
The deadline for submission of works is September 10, and all short fiction (not documentary) whose duration is less than 25 minutes and whose date of completion is later than January 1, 2016 will be admitted.
A committee will select, among all the works received, the short films that enter the competition.
These shorts will be screened during the week of the contest, which will take place from November 26 to December 2, with the sponsorship of the City of Cartagena.
The two modalities in which short filmmakers can register are the Official Section of Short Films, intended for both national and foreign filmmakers, and MURCINE, in which only authors from the Region of Murcia are admitted.
As for the prizes, in the Official Short Film Section the best short will receive 3,000 euros.
In addition, there will be recognitions for Best Direction, Photography and Screenplay, recognitions to which this year is added the Best Interpretation.
On the other hand, in the section MURCINE, the first prize 'Carabela de Plata Ciudad de Cartagena' will be endowed with 1,500 euros, while the second, 'Submarino Peral', will be with 500 euros.
