The program 'Fish with Art', which seeks to inform the public about the main artisanal fishing gear, marine reserves of fishing interest declared on our coasts and encourage responsible action as consumers of fish;
Organizes next Monday June 12 a conference specially designed for restaurateurs and restaurateurs.
The event, organized by the Association Amureco and the Association Columbares in collaboration with the Center for Tourism Qualification of Murcia, will train and sensitize the participants, with the aim of becoming allies for the promotion of sustainable fishery products.
It will promote the establishment of synergies between this group and the fishing sector and the co-responsibility in the conservation of the marine environment.
However, they are open to people of any discipline interested in approaching artisanal fishing and learn about the history of this profession.
The program includes a combination of theory and practice in which experts from the scientific sector and environmental education will explain to the assistants the fishing gear, some of the recommended fish species and methods of capture and aspects to be taken into account for responsible consumption And respectful of marine biodiversity.
In addition, chefs from renowned restaurants in our region will prepare different recipes with some of the proposed species.
The conference will take place on June 12, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Tourist Qualification Center of Murcia (C / Pintor Aurelio Pérez nº 1 Ctra. De Puente Tocinos 30006 Murcia).
Entrance is free until capacity is reached.
Pescados con Arte is an initiative of the Columbares Association and the Department of Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Coastal of the City Council of Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Cartagena Fishermen's Guild, the University of Murcia and the Asociación Amureco, besides the gastronomic advice of Alberto Hernando Magadán.
The project aims to put value in the artisanal fishing of the Cartagena coast.
A selective form of fishing, respectful to the environment and with little impact on habitats of high ecological value such as the Posidonia oceanica prairies, which also promotes local consumption and proximity.
But artisanal fishing is also culture and gastronomy, a traditional way of life with important social importance for the economy of the Region of Murcia.
