The Josefina Soria Library of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center hosts this Wednesday, June 7, the presentation of the finalist work of the Planet 2014 Prize, 'Where the violets spring', the first novel by the writer Carmen Mnazaneque, published by the publisher Círculo Red.
The act, framed within the program of 'Reading, think, imagine' of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, will begin at 20.00 hours and will be presented by the librarian María del Carmen Rodal and the author herself.
'Where the violets sprout' tells the story of Elena who, in a moment of uncertainty in her life, begins to work in a nursing home.
From that moment you will know stories of women and men marked by the prejudices and taboos of the time that you had to live, you will be caught by the tenderness of the characters and live with them experiences that will make you rethink your own life.
THE AUTHOR
Carmen Manzaneque was born in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real) in February 1957 and, since she was twelve years old, she lives in Illescas (Toledo).
His love for letters began at age five, when he discovered, in his first readings, the pleasure of poetry and set out to be a poet.
As a teenager, his father, a professional photographer, offered him another way by putting a Nikon in his hands and the possibility of learning at his side.
At age 23, she married, her children were born and the photography was changed by the furniture sector.
During all these years, Carmen never gave up the dream she had as a child, so she continued to write for herself and her family numerous stories, poetry and even a collection of children's stories.
