This Monday, June 5, starting at 11:30 am, the exhibition of works from the course of the Project VII of the School of Architecture and Construction (ETSAE) of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Infrastructures of the Area of ​​Sustainable Development of the City of Cartagena, in an event that will be attended by the mayor, José López.

During the university course that now comes to an end, the students of the fourth year of Architecture directed by the architects Patricia Reus and Jaume Blancafort, under the supervision of the technical services of Infrastructure with its General Director, Manuel Nicolás, at the front, have analyzed The possibilities of urban improvement of the city in the area of ​​the Bus Station of Cartagena.

The Bus Station, next to the FEVE and RENFE Stations, make up the nerve center of urban and interurban communications in the city.

The area run by Manuel Nicolás studies the remodeling of the Bus Station to accommodate spaces or premises intended for training, socio-cultural or relationship activities such as centers of associations, groups, etc.

Spaces that would share the building with its current use, destined to the transport of travelers.

Students of Architecture have shown a special sensitivity to the neighborhood of Los Mateos, which is disconnected from the city by the old train tracks.

In this exhibition, which opens Monday, the students of the ETSAE / UPCT will present their proposals for urban rehabilitation of the city.

As a reward for its work during the course, the City of Cartagena has offered the courtyard the administrative building of San Miguel for the exhibition of works.

The future architects have been in charge of the design and assembly of the exhibition space, which promises not to leave the visitor indifferent.

The exhibition is completed by the presentation of various studies on the city by the Department of Urban Planning and Territorial Planning of the ETSAE and the works of the Master in Architectural Heritage of the UPCT.

The work of students of Architecture will remain exposed throughout the summer during administrative hours.
