Representatives of the Fundación Cepaim met Thursday with the delegate councilor of Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, to present the solidarity challenge 'Twelve million pedaladas for the international protection of refugees', a challenge that seeks to unite Cycling 23 of the 32 territorial centers of the Cepaim Foundation, in total some 2000 kilometers.
The objective is to sensitize society about the reality of refugees and to get a euro cent for each of these symbolic pedals to invest in programs to support the processes of reception and integration of refugee people and families.
The challenge will start on September 1 from Vila Real de San Antonio (Portugal) and the goal of the challenge will be in the city of Colliure (France), where Antonio Machado is buried;
With this is intended to pay homage to the illustrious writer, one of the intellectuals who were forced to seek refuge in the neighboring country.
The route will arrive in Cartagena in its ninth stage on September 9.
The councilor and the coordinator of Cepaim have offered all their help to achieve that the challenge of the 12 million pedaladas is a success and is invited to participate to social entities, cycling clubs and citizenship in general in a small urban circuit of family participation , Which will be carried out by the port city so that anyone who wants to get their number can be exchanged for the circuit pedals.
