The mayor of Cartagena, José López, held a meeting this Thursday, June 1, with the manager of the Association of Families and Friends of the Sick of Alzehimer Cartagena (AFAL Cartagena), Raúl Nieto, in which he addressed the main Needs of the association, such as the implementation of a day care center that can provide support to patients and their families.
The first mayor recalled that it is a competition of the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and has transmitted to the manager of AFAL its commitment to the association.
Thus, he has assured that he will accompany the association in all the requirements that he makes to the competent counseling and that, when the Autonomous Community approves the construction of this day center, he himself will search "down to the stones" the ideal location for AFAL .
"I think it is fundamental and very necessary for Cartagena and for the sick and their families," said José López.
In addition, during this meeting, Nieto has transmitted to the mayor the details of the next campaign of collection and information that will carry out the association.
It consists of the sale of solidarity bracelets, at a symbolic price of 3 euros, which will be available at the association's headquarters, located in Alameda de San Antón.
"We want to serve as much awareness of the disease as funding for benefits of users and partners," said the manager of AFAL, who also thanked the support of the mayor to find the space and meet the needs of the association.
