The Cartagena party will urge CARM to go to the competent Ministry to demand compliance with the electoral commitment acquired by the PP on the full public reversal of this infrastructure
The MC municipal group will request at the Plenary of the City Council, which will be held tomorrow, the free of charge of the Cartagena-Vera highway.
Thus, through its spokesman, Francisco Calderón, will urge the CARM to demand before the competent Ministry compliance with the commitment made by the PP for the full public reversal of the AP7.
Calderón recalled the change of position of the Ministry of Development through its owner, Iñigo de la Serna, regarding the electoral commitment of the Popular Party adopted by its portfolio predecessor, Ana Pastor, to guarantee automatic re-conversion to the State, in order to eliminate tolls Of all motorway concessions that will be due in the coming years, as well as those that are in a situation of bankruptcy, a specific situation that includes the section of the AP7 between Cartagena and Vera.
In this sense, the spokesman of the Municipal Group MC has said that "these changes have led the minister to indicate in several media that, having some of these highways a result of positive exploitation and income not negligible, would entail the assumption by the State of these channels in competition of creditors through the State Society of Terrestrial Infrastructures for a later re-engagement. "
Faced with this evidence, the formation of Cartagena will require the Plenary to urge the regional government to address the Ministry responsible and demand the fulfillment of the original commitment of the exministra, since it is an infrastructure that currently "remains unite, And to promote the development of the coastal coast of the Maritime Province of Cartagena and Almeria, as it is its end. On the contrary, it marks prohibitive tolls for citizens and companies that separate us, and even worse, it differentiates and damages us as Spaniards of second class in the autonomic and state level, compared to other populations of the Autonomous Community and other regions of Spain that are free of payments, "said Calderón.
Likewise, Francisco Calderón has asserted that "it is inconceivable that an inhabitant of the Region of Cartagena, whether to climb north along the coast or to move to Andalusia in the south, has to pay abusive tolls against the rest of citizens of the Region, being public highways of the State ".
Finally, the spokesman of the municipal group MC said that "all this is reason to stop the economy in its area of influence and why we raise the voice through this motion, because there is no path to the AP7 that does not Be the public concession and totally free of this in the aforementioned sections, nothing more and nothing less than adopting the original commitment of Ana Pastor.
Historical claim of MC
It should be remembered that this is a claim that MC has been making for months.
Thus, through its president, Jesús Giménez, the formation of the Carthagena has shown that CARM must assume this management in order to equate Cartagena with the citizens of other regions of the Region.
On this issue, Giménez said in December of last year 2016 that "if the state rescues these highways, it is time for Cartagena-Vera, as should also be Cartagena-Alicante, to become free for all citizens."
Likewise, the president of MC recalled that "the regional government has before it a magnificent opportunity to show its interest for the citizens of the Region of Cartagena, matching them with the neighbors of other areas of the Region that enjoy free connection through Of road with the Mediterranean and Andalusia, privilege of which, we all know, we do not enjoy the cartageneros taxpayers ".
