The actions are the result of the exhaustive control carried out on foreign citizens, non-EU citizens, invited to Spain mainly by relatives.
The research was carried out thanks to the collaboration with the Consulate General of Spain in Oran.
The National Police has, among its priority functions, border control not only in its own national interest, but also in the interests of all the Member States of the European Union which have abolished controls at their internal borders.
It thus contributes to the fight against illegal immigration and trafficking in human beings and to the prevention of any threat to internal security, public order, public health and the international relations of the Member States.
In order to carry out this border control, every foreigner who intends to enter Spanish territory must meet the following requirements:
Do it for the positions authorized for the purpose
To carry the valid passport or travel document proving your identity
In addition to other requirements such as:
The presentation of documents that justify the object and conditions of entry and stay
Accreditation of sufficient economic means
And if applicable, the corresponding visa for what must be accredited, among other documents:
Medical insurance that covers medical expenses and repatriation associated with an accident or sudden illness, which occurs during your vacation in Spain.
Likewise, all foreigners who wish to obtain a visa for the purpose of carrying out a tourist or private trip must, among other requirements, provide:
A letter of invitation from a private individual residing in Spain, which establishes the existence of a true accommodation available to the foreigner, and which also contains information on whether or not the accommodation covers the whole or part of the accommodation Of their maintenance.
In relation to this border control, the National Police in Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Consulate General of Spain in Oran, detected a breach of the return control imposed on an Algerian family, suspecting that their intentions were not to make a tourist trip, but to stay in Spain.
This family would have obtained their respective visas thanks to the presentation of several letters of invitation requested through the Commissariat of Cartagena by other Algerian citizens with residence in this locality.
The Aliens and Borders Brigade confirmed that they had entered the national territory through the Alicante Airport, but they did not, however, have any exit control, which indicated that they remained on European soil several months after the expiration of their visas .
The guests requested the registration in an address of Cartagena
Next, the agents requested the collaboration of the City of Cartagena and other State Administrations, being able to verify that all the members of the family unit had been registered a few days of entering Spain and also had requested documents of health care in special situations for Foreign citizens not registered in the National Health System, the equivalent of health cards held by any citizen with residence in our country.
These data would confirm the suspicions of the Consulate and the agents about the final intention of this family to settle in European territory.
In this case, the components of the family unit were registered in the municipal register in a house belonging to the invitants and guarantors of the correct fulfillment of the letters of invitation and that had allowed the entrance in Spain of those.
Despite the enumeration, the investigators verified that it was a fictitious domicile, that would have been used only for the purpose of acquiring the sanitary documents, reason why they established a device of control and vigilance on the domicile of the invitants that, concluded with The arrest of the four persons, after verifying that the guests resided secretly in the domicile of the Algerian marriage.
As it is narrated, finally the invitantes were stopped by a crime of favor of the illegal immigration.
And the guests, were for an infraction to the Law of Aliens, bringing them the corresponding expulsion records.
For all of the above, the National Police reports the criminal responsibility that can be incurred by citizens resident in our country when they issue a letter of invitation for citizens of other non-EU countries.
