The Popular University of Cartagena (UP) completes its cultural and formative offer of the present course with a dozen courses of summer that are organized for the first time and that will be developed, mainly, in the cultural center Ramón Alonso Luzzy.
This was announced Wednesday, May 31, the councilman of culture of Cartagena, David Martinez, and the director of the UP, José Macián.
The courses, which are scheduled from June 6 to July 13, will have a duration ranging from 5 to 12 hours and will allow the extension of this year's UP training.
"We believe that the summer season is a good time to do new things and discover yourself in creative spaces, new techniques and learning of any kind," said Martínez.
The offer of courses will have a varied theme and affordable prices, highlighted the mayor of Culture, since none reaches 26 euros.
All will take place in the cultural center Ramón Alonso Luzzy with the exception of 'Bioenergetics and music therapy', which will give from 3 to 5 July Isabel Luñansky in the Mediterranean CEIP of La Manga.
Other courses that have been programmed in this program are 'Music Therapy: Relaxation Techniques and Stress Relief', which will also offer Isabel Luñansky;
'Improve the coexistence with your dog', by Raúl Hernández;
'Photography in English', which Fructo Navarro will teach and requires an approximate level of B1 in this language;
Sergio Urán will be in charge of offering 'Drawing of human anatomy';
And Nati Serrano and Elena Marcos will impart 'Customize your life.
Create your pillow of dreams'.
They complete the training offer of the UP this summer 'Positize your life.
The traveling box ', which will give Nati Serrano and Elena Marcos;
'How to put my brain in shape', which will teach Marga Carrillo;
And Cristina Navarro will be in charge of offering the courses 'Kingutsi, Japanese procedure of ceramic restoration' and 'The other materials of sculpture'.
For its part, the director of UP has highlighted the novelty of some of the themes of the courses that are taught, such as music therapy workshops or the course to learn techniques to get closer and improve living with your pet.
In addition, the offer this summer has taken into account those people who have knowledge of English, and therefore has designed the course to acquire knowledge about photography in English.
He also highlighted the workshop 'How to put my brain in shape' which is free and is done in collaboration with the University of Murcia (UMU) framed within a long-term project between both educational institutions.
The registration for these courses, organized by the Popular University with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, will open this Thursday, June 1, through the website of the up
Another initiative of the Department of Culture for this summer is the return of summer cinema, which will reach more neighborhoods and councils.
Thus, Martinez explained, from July 12 to August 14, from Monday to Friday, at 10 pm, the films 'Ahora o nunca' will be screened, with actors Dani Rovira, María Valverde and Clara Lago as protagonists;
And 'An Imperfect Mother' starring Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne.
Macián stressed, on the other hand, that these are two comedies that can enjoy any type of public, and that will allow participation in this activity to families, seniors, adults or young people.
This year the two films, both released in 2015, will be screened in 12 neighborhoods and councils.
The mayor of Culture has invited the inhabitants of the neighborhoods "but also all those who can go to see them" to attend the sessions of the summer cinema and "make a pleasant evening to people who wish to see them" and "Extends the cultural and educational offer that is made throughout the year."
