The Councilor of Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, has accompanied this weekend a delegation of Carthaginians and Romans IV Iberian Festivals Linares, where last Sunday took place an act of alliance between the cities of Cartagonova and Cástulo, In front of the Roman legions.
The union between both peoples was sealed with a representation of the marriage between Himilce and the Carthaginian general Hannibal, with whom the Second Punic War began.
During the ceremony, the authorities of both cities exchanged symbols, the mayor of Linares, Juan Fernandez, delivered to Torralba the protector Lion of the city of Cástulo, while the mayor of Festejos handed him a plaque commemorating Cartagena.
Both the festers and the authorities of Linares have pledged to return the visit and participate in the next edition of Carthaginians and Romans next September.
