About a year ago, our group visited the José María de Lapuerta neighborhood where members of the AMAS Association showed us the abandoned day care center that has lately been the object of denunciations, robberies and vandalism in this battered neighborhood of Cartagena.
The situation has worsened since then, currently with broken windows and doors, gaps to enter and broken grilles.
Neighbors have warned us of the current poor state of the building, and we have also expressed their wish that in the future we could give public and cultural use to this former nursery, which now seems to be in the hands of a banking entity.
Recall that previously was a center for work and family reconciliation for people without resources, and that the city council could, if you would like, to return useful use to this property for neighbors and neighbors in the area.
CTSSP will raise several questions to the government in the next plenary on the subject, also emphasizing that the plan of recovery of the housing could be realized through programs with youth and unemployed of the neighborhood itself.
