The Seniors Unit of the Department of Social Services and Social Mediation organized last week a talk about the Bazán School of Apprentices, which was given by the electronic engineer and former student of the school, Juan Manzanares García.
The talk, which is part of the course 'A walk through the history of Cartagena, its traditions and customs', highlighted the importance of the school of apprentices of the national company Bazán, whose classrooms have been over Three thousand people, both for the high qualification received by the students and for the professional projection of many of them, who are now managers of large companies throughout Spain.
In addition, a tour of the history and evolution of the school to the present day was made, starting with the subjects, courses, teachers and the activities that were done there.
"It is a clear example of the modernity of the school at the time when it was created, both for its facilities and for the training that was imparted in it.
That is why Cartagena and our council has wanted to honor its teaching, first with the square that bears his name and then with this talk, "said the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín del Amor.
