The Cartagena neighborhood of St. Lucia will host one more year the Flamenco Recitals, organized by the Sociocultural and Sports Association El Pinacho and that, with this one, they already fulfill twelve editions.
From May 27 to July 1, every Saturday will take place the actions of this initiative that is taking shape and where participation is increasing more and more
The Councilor of Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba, and Francisco Torres, representing the ASCD El Pinacho Monday presented the program of events of the XII edition of these Flamenco Recitals that will begin on Saturday May 27 at 10:10 pm with An equestrian flamenco show.
The rest of the performances will always begin at 11:00 p.m. and all will be held in Plaza de la Marina Española.
Thus, on June 3 will act Bernardo Miranda, accompanied on the guitar by Manuel de la Luz;
On the 10th will Luisa Muñoz and guitarist Paco León;
The 17 will be the turn for Samuel Serrano, who will also come with Paco León;
And already on July 1 will arrive Maria 'Earthquake' and Nono Jero.
These last two artists are members of very important sagas within the world of flamenco, as is the case of the 'Earthquake' or Nono Jero, who is of the family of Moraíto Chico, famous guitarist of José Mercé.
Some of the planned activities for the week of San Juan and the patron saint festivities of the neighborhood have also been presented.
For the first of these festivities, which will be held from June 17 to 23, there will be a bonfire that will include drawings made by girls and boys in the neighborhood.
The patron saint festivities of Saint Lucia will be celebrated this year from June 30 to July 9 and include a great play-backs competition on the 14th and 15th, nights dedicated to transformism (days 21, 22, 28 and 29), parties On the 4th and 5th of August and the traditional 'Noche del pollo asado', in which all the attendants will be invited to this dish.
"From the Town Hall we gladly support this goal of not losing the flamenco recital and from here we encourage the Cartagena and those who come from outside visit us at this time and know this emblematic corner that is St. Lucia," said the Councilor of Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, during his speech.
