The general university hospital Santa Lucia of Cartagena hosted last Friday the awards ceremony of the tenth edition of the international contest of stories' In my verse I am free ', in which also the book' In my verse I am free .
Relatos 2017 'in which are collected up to 26 stories written by hospitalized children in Spain and Latin America.
The international storytelling 'In my verse I am free' is a project of educational innovation organized by the Ministry of Education, which awakens the passion for reading, encourages literary writing and develops the creative and communicative skills of students of childbearing age. Compulsory schooling that are hospitalized or convalescent in their home.
The mayor of Cartagena, José López, was one of those in charge of delivering these prizes in which have competed up to 153 stories of schoolchildren between 6 and 17 years who live daily with his illness in centers of Spain and Latin America.
The jury has distinguished four winners and has selected 22 others for their literary quality to be published in the new edition of the book 'In my verse I am free.

In category A, involving children between six and nine years, won the story Hospital of the future of Alberto Barranquero, Hospital Virgen de la Macarena in Seville;
In category B, from 10 to 13 years, the winner was Martina Dumas of the Child Jesus of Madrid with the story In the future;
In category C the winner was Cecilia Magueyo, from the hospital complex Perpetuo Socorro de Albacete.
This year, in addition, the gala has had a prize for students with intellectual diversity, and in which has distinguished the story The kingdoms of Etagi and Segu del Aula of the university clinical hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.
Throughout the gala acted and participated the Legion 501 of Stars Wars, a group of fans that animated the act and represented a work to support with his "force" to these hospitalized children.
