An excited Luis Leante collected the award of the first of these two categories while thanking the work of the whole team that makes this project possible.
For his part, Miguel Ortiz claimed the importance of literature, right at a time when it is in danger of disappearing from the Bachillerato agenda.
A VANGUARDISTA PROJECT
Both authors have praised these awards in which more than 40,000 people have participated since its inception.
"You feel part of a big family and that's the biggest prize there is, nothing can compare to that," Ortiz said, who has emphasized that readers who have jury "have read books with love."
The winner of the Mandarache Prize leaves with "the satisfaction that the book has hooked them" and "feel" that he has done the job well "because he has caught up with them", referring to the young people who have participated.
In this regard, he considered that the fact that the protagonists are adolescents, like them, has made them identify more with his book.
"They are characters like they could be themselves," he said.
Receiving this recognition encourages him to continue writing, he assured.
Ortiz said he was very happy to take the Mandarache Prize, a project like "there would have to be one in every city of Spain", in his opinion.
"One writes so that a dialogue is created and the one that is created here is incredible, it is great," he added.
In the same line, the other winner, Luis Leante, said that "now that there is so much talk about the promotion of reading, they should look a little here because there is no better plan to promote reading than what is happening Here, I think it would have to serve as a model because there are few things like this. "
Leante believes it should be done "in other places and set the example."
On the other hand, he showed some disbelief at his success.
"You know what is happening but you do not believe it," he commented.
"The youth public still has a spontaneity and sincerity that adults do not have," he explained.
He also pointed out the connection between his work and the readers who voted for him as winner of the Hache Prize that "the plot has things that, even if they are fiction, are close to what can be today the life of young people."
