The street festival reaches its third edition with a day of leisure, play and creativity with the aim of giving visibility to the collective of homeless people.
The activities were presented this morning by the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, the Councilor for Social Services, Mª Carmen Martín;
Isabel, representing the group of homeless people and M.ª José Cruzado in presentation of the organizing associations.
The day will be held in Parque de los Juncos on Saturday, May 13 from 11:00 p.m.
Calderón thanked the work of the technicians and organizing entities, and reaffirmed the commitment of the Government team to social policies, which shows support for this initiative.
Isabel encouraged the citizens to celebrate the Feast of the Street and to get closer to knowing the social reality that she and other people live in the city.
He has invited people to come to know and share a day of coexistence a party organized and made by this group.
She herself has been in charge of detailing the program for that day which will include:
10:00 - Welcome and healthy breakfast
10:30 - Tai Chi
11:00 - Expressive dance, board games and workshops
12:00 - Manifest reading
12:30 - Theater sensitization and the dynamic "Tree of desires"
13:00 - Zumba and DJ music
13:30 - Food and closure
Cruzado has indicated that this party is a meeting place through leisure, play and creativity.
It is an activity promoted by the homeless people of Cartagena with the support of the organizing associations: Cepaim, Accem, Caritas, Red Cross, La Huertecica, Hospitality Santa Teresa, in coordination with the Department of Equality and Social Services of the City council of Cartagena.
"The street situation is the maximum level of social exclusion of modern society and a reality present in our city that sometimes remains hidden," said Cruzado, who has stated that this event is "a way to make the homeless visible , To give them protagonism from their creative, playful and participative capacities.
It is an inclusive experience in which we find ourselves beyond the stereotypes and labels to reach a public space of encounter as people and citizens.
The event was closed by the Councilor for Social Services who wanted to emphasize the search for social equality by this day, meeting space for citizenship with homeless people.
"We are all forced to work together to eliminate the causes that produce this situation," he said, and for this reason has invited everyone to participate in such an important day.
